Women's Soccer Triumphs Over MacMurray, 5-1

GREENVILLE, Ill.--The Lady Panthers meant business when they took on MacMurray College, winning 5-1 on their home field.
Greenville's Haley Thatcher scored the first two goals for the team. Panther senior, Jeana Brandmeyer, netted GC's third goal with less than a minute left in the first half. The team headed into the locker room at halftime with a 3-0 lead.
In the second half, Greenville captain, Kelsey Panzau, scored early in the half to bring the Panthers up 4-0. Freshman, Kami Suess added another GC goal to bring the home team up 5-0. Late in the half, MacMurray scored when the ball got loose deep in Panther territory. The visitor's lone goal brought the game to its final score of 5-1, GC.
Panther goalkeeper, Heidi Koehl, was credited with the win.
The Conference victory brings the team's record to 4-9 (3-1 SLIAC). The women will play again this Saturday, October 19, at 4:00pm when they take on Eureka in their 2013 Homecoming game.
