New Student Guide - Medical Resources

Greenville University, in cooperation with Greenville doctors and HSHS Holy Family Hospital, has arranged for excellent medical services for all of its students. Both students and their families may rest assured that when medical needs arise, ample care is available. Greenville University enjoys a close relationship with local doctors and the hospital, which is located just a few blocks from campus.

At all times, a Resident Director is on duty at the University to meet the needs of students. When a medical need arises, the students' Resident Assistants and Resident Director will do whatever is necessary to help them. When the doctors' offices are closed, the students' RD can help them obtain the necessary medical assistance.

HSHS Holy Family Hospital

HSHS Holy Family Hospital offers a 24-hour physician staffed emergency room and on-site ambulance service. Community support has enabled HSHS Holy Family Hospital to secure some of the latest in medical equipment and technology, including an in-house MRI and CT scanner. Should your student need to see a specialist, a clinic with approximately 50 specialty offerings is also available.

Athletic Insurance

Greenville University student athletes participating in a varsity sport are required to purchase athletic insurance from the University. The athletic insurance is separate from the school's insurance. Under this policy, the student is required to have a primary insurance plan. The athletic insurance is a secondary insurance. The policy assures that student athletes will be covered by insurance in case of a sports related injury. For more information, call the Athletics Office at 618.664.6622.
