Greenville University signs enrollment agreement with SWIC

Published: May 17, 2023

Greenville University and Southwestern Illinois College recently signed an enrollment agreement for SWIC students transferring to Greenville University with an AAS degree in Human Services Technology to earn a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) through a mutually agreed upon body of coursework.

The agreement between the two institutions will allow current students at SWIC the opportunity for a smooth transition to an accredited four-year degree program. Students will complete a two-year AAS degree at SWIC and complete their BSW at Greenville University.

Greenville University signs enrollment agreement with SWICAccording to Helo Oidjarv, PhD, MSW, Social Work Program Director at Greenville University (pictured at left),
“We are excited to partner with SWIC in offering an opportunity for all those who have received their AAS in Human Services Technology to come to Greenville University and complete their 4-year Bachelor of Social Work degree. To ease the transition, students with the AAS in Human Services Technology can transfer 12 credits or 4 classes from SWIC and use them towards the 46 credits required for the BSW major. Completing a BSW degree from Greenville University, a program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education, will open up significant opportunities for these students to serve their communities in the field of social work or continue on with their graduate degree in social work.”

Greenville University is proud to partner with Southwestern Illinois College to provide future social workers with the best possible opportunities for success. For more information about this enrollment agreement, please contact Greenville University Admissions at 618.664.7100.
