Published: September 01, 2021

(UPDATED AUG. 30) The COVID-19 saliva-testing center will open on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, on the Greenville University campus.

Testing will be available from 10 am to 3 pm onWednesdays throughout the semester. The testing centeris located on the third floor of the library in Young Tower.

Students and employees on campus who are not vaccinated for COVID-19 will be required to test once per week. This requirement is in line with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike's announcement of vaccination requirements for individuals in high risk settings.

Governor Pritzker and Dr. Ezike alsoannounced a statewide indoor mask mandate for all Illinois residents, regardless of vaccination status, as COVID-19 cases and hospitalization rates continue to increase. The masking requirements are effective Monday, August 30th.

The University is pleased to continue to have an effective testing program to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community. The saliva testing innovations developed by our partners at the University of Illinois are helping in-person activities continue on campus. The saliva rapid response test involves providing saliva dribble into a tube to submit for testing of COVID-19 and related variants. Positive test results will be notified by the Bond County Health department and contact tracing will occur.
