Pastor of Living the Word Church

Pastor David T. Hawkins is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois. He is the youngest of 12 boys and one girl. He educational journey included Alta Sita Elementary, Clark Jr. High, and Lincoln High School. 

He completed his B.S. in Business Administration & Marketing from the University of Missouri at Columbia while achieving the Deans list for four years. David was called as senior pastor of Living The Word Church in East St. Louis, IL in 1998 while working in Financial Sales.  He later went on to work in Pharmaceutical sales while also being active in the Metro East community through ministry, mentoring and volunteerism. 

As a pastor, he started with two members and a bankrupt church.  Since then, he has seen amazing growth while ministering to nearly 700 people per weekend and expanding to multiple worship services per Sunday. 

Many community Leaders are being raised & developed through Living The Word Church. The reach of the ministry extend well beyond the four-walls. Along with his passion for reformation locally, his ministry supports 3rd world missions by building water wells in select countries . 

Pastor David’s greatest 2 joys are spending time with his son, Josiah David Hawkins, and doing the work of ministry. 

In 2005, he completed his Master’s in Theological Studies from Covenant Seminary in Creve, Coeur, MO. Pastor David, has an unparalleled leading style that has allowed God’s Kingdom to be expanded and the local community to be impacted.  The church he pastors is ethnically diverse and is truly unique as they pursue God’s Agenda.

Dr. Reinhard, Spanish professor at Greenville University, first received his passion and his call for the Spanish culture and Spanish education while participating in GC’s Summer Study in Santiago back in 1983. After graduating from Greenville College in 1986 Dr. Reinhard taught Spanish in secondary public education for 14 years, during which time he completed his M.A. in Spanish from St. Louis University, Madrid Campus. He continued with his doctoral work at SLU as well, while teaching full-time at Greenville College. Dr. Reinhard has organized and led more than a 20 study-abroad and student exchange programs to five different countries, including the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Spain, Mexico and Costa Rica including Greenville’s new Semester in Nicaragua program.  He resides in Greenville, with his wife Carla. Dr. Reinhard or “Profe” has a passion for both preparing students to teach Spanish effectively and for teaching the language himself.
