Job Description SUMMARY: The Greenville University Conference Services department seeks to hire two (2) dedicated individuals who will assist with planning and execution of Greenville University’s portfolio of summer events. The Conference Services Associate position plays a vital role in delivering first-class experiences to internal and external stakeholders of Greenville University. The role focuses on overseeing all outside groups that use GU facilities during the summer months (particularly June and July). RESPONSIBILITIES: Customer Service - Associates serves as ambassadors of Greenville University for external stakeholders (clients, camp participants, etc) in attendance. The majority of each day is focused around the customer service/experience we deliver. Operations - Associates assist with on-site execution of operational and logistical planning for summer events/camps as needed. Many of the elements and materials used each day require setup and breakdown each day. It is the Associates’ responsibility to participate in the setup and breakdown of events throughout the course of the summer. Associates must manage event elements such as equipment and asset movement, inventory, and organization of storage units. Event Assistance - Associates will be required to assist with any event that is occurring throughout the duration of the summer months. Associates must keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization, while adhering to company safety policies. Grassroots Marketing - Associates will be provided the opportunity to engage clients and camp participants to promote future use of Greenville University’s facilities. Practical Experience – Associates will use the knowledge attained throughout Conference Services to assist with other Greenville University related summer initiatives. Required Qualifications -Ability to perform the following physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground, walk/run up and down ramps, walk and stand for extended periods of time -Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular and continuing basis and lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis -Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills -Must be able to work nontraditional hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays as needed Ability to thrive as a team player
