If the book you need isn't available in the Greenville University Library (it's either checked out, lost, or we don't own it), the next step is to check the I-Share Catalog, a shared catalog for 90 academic libraries throughout Illinois.
- In order to request a book from another I-Share Library, first login to your account in the I-Share Catalog. You'll use your GU (D2L) username and password to login.
- Once you have logged in, locate an item that you want to request.
- When the full record of the item you want is displayed, look for the "How to get it" section, if it says "I-Share" you can request the item.
- Click on the arrow to the right and the request form will open. It will default to Preferred Pickup Location of Ruby E. Dare Library, but you can change that if another library is closer to you. All that is left is to click on "Send Request" and then you will see a screen that says your request was submitted.
Once you check out an item from another I-Share Library, it is your responsibility to renew it before it becomes overdue. You can renew I-Share materials in your account in the I-Share Catalog or the Greenville University Library Catalog.
Note: You should renew items before they are due. Once they are overdue, you may have difficulty renewing them, and you will most likely receive a fine from the lending library. Each I-Share library determines how much they charge for their own overdue or lost items.
