About Becky Kriegel
Becky and her husband of 32 years, Roger, live in Granite City, Illinois. Besides raising two grown sons, she has been teaching for 22 years. Her family enjoys camping and canoeing at nearby rivers in Missouri, and she likes to read, garden, and swim. She also sings in the church choir and teaches Vacation Bible School. Before teaching at GU, she was an adjunct at both Southwestern Illinois College and Lewis and Clark College.
Becky especially relates to the GU values of service and community. With her church, she has co-written a grant for several years to help young mothers understand the importance of early literacy in the life of their child(ren). She and her husband also emphasized the importance of giving back to the community when their sons were going through the Boys Scouts of America program. She was glad they were challenged to serve through an Eagle project.
Becky is excited about meeting and teaching GU students. "From what I have read about GU," she writes, "I look forward to meeting students who have a strong work ethic and are willing to learn."
