Job Description

Part time positions. MAILROOM WORK- STUDIES FOR SUMMER AND FALL 2019 NEEDED. Job Description: The mailroom work study performs a variety of routine duties and tasks with the overall goal of serving with utmost respect the customers, the entire Greenville University community and through prompt and accurate sorting and delivery of mail, and following established mailroom office practices and procedures. Job Duties: Courteously greet customers who come to pick up mail and packages. Provide accurate information to customers. Scan and check in packages. Scan packages being picked up. Sign for packages from UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL. Sort staff and student mail. Use Info Card for confirming student box numbers and forwarding mail. Deliver student mail to boxes. Forward and return packages. Empty trash and recycling. Vacuum and straighten up mailroom. Process student withdrawals and key returns using appropriate forms and procedures. Process new student key requests using appropriate forms and procedures. Copy, laminate, use paper cutter, bind manuals and distribute paper using appropriate forms and procedures. Deliver packages when requested to departments. Learn mailroom policies and procedures. Required Skills: Alphabetization, problem solving, technical and computer, detail oriented, organization, friendly customer service, following directions, and effective communication. Requirements for working in mailroom: Be on time and follow official schedule. Accurately clock in and out. Attend monthly staff meeting. Help to train new student workers. Inform supervisor when unable to come. Be responsible for finding a sub. Always ask if there is something that needs to be done. Keep cell phone use to a minimum. Look at new assignments posted on white board when you come to work. Communicate clearly to supervisor and staff the next steps to take when unable to complete a task. Demonstrate maturity and humility. * You must be able to work a minimum of five hours a week. Your application will be forwarded to the mailroom for consideration.
