Engineering Major Overview

Study Engineering at Greenville University

Four-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree (B.S.E.) Program

Greenville University recognizes that Engineering is a continually evolving field of study, that’s why we integrate education from mechanical, computer, and electrical engineering into our four-year engineering program.  We are also one of the few schools in the nation that offers quantum engineering at the undergraduate level. Our class sizes are small, ensuring that you get the attention you need to succeed while you work with state-of-the-art technology, experience transformative internships, and work in an environment that bolsters creativity and community. Greenville believes in offering engineering for the future so that you can shape the world.

Our new four-year program Greenville uses SMART engineering to give essential knowledge and skills for a new generation of engineers. Just as we weave several threads of engineering through one education, we also integrate faith by offering a Christ-centered education.  We want to build confidence in our engineering students by providing experiences that will help them in their future careers. After our students graduate, we’re still there, offering help with internships, furthering education, and job placement.

The engineering program has been approved for offering by Greenville University’s accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission.

Highlights of the engineering program:

  • Integrated learning – The “Smart” Engineering advantage allows students to study all three branches of engineering.
  • Personal attention and mentoring for each student – Dedicated faculty direct student learning according to each student’s interests and desired career path. Small class sizes ensure personal attention.
  • Hands-on training beginning freshman year – Students gain access to advanced engineering equipment from their very first year in the program.
  • Emphasis on passion and calling – Greenville University inspires students to embrace God’s call. This includes students drawn to engineering with its potential to impact medicine, technology, creation care and more.
  • Connection, opportunities and networking – The program utilizes global contacts in the engineering industry to help students find internships and jobs, begin networking and even identify resources to support start-ups.
The engineering program has been approved for offering by Greenville University’s accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission.

Optional Engineering 3/2 Dual Degree Partnership Program

You can elect to earn two bachelor degrees by participating in our dual degree partnership with Washington University in St. Louis or the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. After successfully completing a planned course of study for three years at GU and two years at the partner school, you would be eligible to apply for GU’s Bachelor of Arts degree in either biology, chemistry or physics.  You are also eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science degree in engineering at the partner school.
