Women's Soccer Notches 10-1 Win Over Harris-Stowe

Published: April 13, 2021

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The women's soccer team's high octane offense was no match for Harris-Stowe as the Lady Panthers won 10-1.

Sophomore Mindy Siebert (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) and junior Rachel Zahniser (Greenville, Ill.) were a scoring duo, both notching hat tricks in the match. Siebert scored in the 2nd, 29th, and 48th minutes with Zahniser scoring the game-winner in the 15th minute then two goals in the 26th and the 52th minutes.

Others would also add to the score line as well. Junior Rachel Irwin (Normal, Ill.) would have two goals in the 50th and 53rd minutes. Senior Kaitlin Sexton (St. Charles, Mo.) scored in the 18th minute, and Rachel Bedtelyon (Columbus, Ind.) added the final goal of the match in the 82nd minute.

The Lady Panthers owned the possession of the match with the defense controlling the defensive third, only allowing two shots and one goal in the match.

Freshman Heidi Koehl (Belleville, Ill.) would earn the win for the match. Sophomore Jenny Suszek (Alpena, Mich.) and Amy Pointer (Granite City, Ill.) also contributed to the win.

The Lady Panthers look to continue their success with a 4-1 record as they travel on Saturday, Sept. 18, to take on Monmouth College at 2:30 p.m.
