Women's Soccer Falls to Brockport

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- After a hard-fought battle, the GC women lose 4-0to an impressive Brockport team.

The Lady Panthers battled the Brockport Golden Eagles but could not come out on top. Brockport's Nikki Hall lead her team with a goal in the 7th minute. The Eagles continued to fire shots at junior goalkeeper Heidi Koehl, who recorded an impressive 7 saves in the game. Brockport's Vanessa Gillette scored in the 17th minute to take the halftime score to 0-2.

Brockport added two more goals in the second half as Katie Gildemeyer and Courtney Szczesniak both put the ball in the net for the Golden Eagles. Despite a valiant effort by GC to come back, when the buzzer sounded after 90 minutes the game was still at 0-4.

This weekend brings the Lady Panthers to a record of 0-1-1. The women will play next at home when Rose-Hulman comes to Greenville on Wednesday. The ladies are ready to improve their record and play for their home fans.
