Women's Cross Country Places 17th at Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. -- Running in their largest meet to date, the women's cross country team earned 17th of 24 teams in the Illinois State Illinois Intercollegiate Championships.
Rosie Nelson finished first for the Greenville squad as she completed her race in 20:47 in her 103rd place showing. Molly Works was close behind, taking 118th with a 21:17 mark.
Rounding out the scoring for Greenville were the efforts of Taylor Thomas (155th, 22:55), Sydney Bennett (160th, 22:58), and Suzanne Ford (162nd, 23:00).
Two hundred twenty-two runners competed.
"The ladies ran well for where we are in season," said head coach Brian Patton. "We were without a couple of our top ladies, and it will nice to have them at the next meet."
The Lady Panthers resume their season at Rhodes College on Saturday, Sept. 29.
