Women's Basketball Can't Top Red Devils

EUREKA, Ill.--The GC Women's Basketball team traveled to Webster to take on the Red Devils and could not come back from their early deficit, losing the game 71-49.

The Panthers were led by Coley Baker, who contributed 16 of GC's total 71 points. Baker also recorded 5 steals and 4 rebounds in the game.

Ieisha Adams also performed well for Greenville, scoring 9 points, making 3 steals, and collecting 4 rebounds for the Lady Panthers.

GC fell behind the Red Devils early and, by the end of the first half were down 20 points to the home team. The Panthers had a better performance second half, but could not overtake Eureka and the game ended with a final score of 71-49.

The Red Devils' Caty Eeten was the leading scorer of the game, ending with 26 points. Kelsey Shomake was not far behind, scoring 18 points and grabbing 16 rebounds for Eureka.

The SLIAC loss brings Greenville to 10-9 (5-5 SLIAC). The Lady Panthers travel to Webster Saturday, Feb. 2 to take on the Gorlocks at 1:00pm.
