Women's track and field headlined by Gilles at Washington University

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The women's track and field team accrued 21 points on Saturday at Washington University where they finished 12th as a team. Chelsea Gilles led the point producers for Greenville with third place in the 200 meter dash.

Gilles' mark of 25.72 seconds came in the third heat. She won her heat with the time.

The 4x100 meter relay was fourth in the event as they completed the sprint around the track in 49.84 seconds to gain five points for Greenville's total.

Taylor Willis was sixth in the hammer throw as she obtained a mark of 38.01 meters (124-8.75) in her fifth of six attempts.

A pair of entries finished seventh on the day. Alex Gregory ran the 100 meter dash in 13.39 seconds as she had the second best time in the second heat. The 4x400 meter relay obtained four points as they completed four laps in 4:23.92.

Michaela Harris wrapped up Greenville's point producers with eighth in the triple jump. She reached 9.35 meters (30-8.25) in her first try.

The Lady Panthers return to action Saturday at home as they compete in the Greenville Select meet.
