Women's Track and Field Finishes Third at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The women's track and field team was led by the efforts of event champions Taylor Brunner, Sierah Ruffner, and the 4x400 meter relay team as they finished third of 16 teams at Illinois College on Saturday.

Brunner posted a long jump of 5.12 meters in her event-winning performance.

Ruffner cleared 1.5 meters to take the high jump title, and the 4x400 meter relay team completed the race in 4:27.54.

The Lady Panthers took second in three events.  Brunner posted a time of 9.93 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles.  Chelsea Gilles ran the 200 meter dash in 27.63 seconds, and Gabby Perdue completed the 60 meter dash in 8.19 seconds.

In other action over the weekend, Maggie McMurtrey competed at Indiana University and finished 13th in the weight throw.

The Lady Panthers will compete Saturday at Illinois Wesleyan.
