Women's track and field cruises to SLIAC Invitational title

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's track and field team made the SLIAC invitional a runaway contest as they took first place for the second straight meet with 13 event titles.
Alex Gregory provided a victory in the 100 meter dash with a completed race of 12.65 seconds.
Chelsea Gilles picked up a handful of wins. Her time of 24.97 in the 200 was the best, and she posted a 56.95 second time in the 400.
Brooke Goodyear was the 1500 meter run champion with a race of 4:58.
Lia Kruse gave the Lady Panthers the 5,000 meter championship with a final of 19:57.
Molly Works grabbed the win in the 3,000 meter steeplechase as she completed the race in 12:15.89.
Both relays came away with wins. Gilles, Gregory, Josie Muniania, and Jalisa Casey finished the 4x100 relay in 48.98 seconds. Sydney Porter, Jayla Fowler, Casey, and Gilles posted a time of 4:07.64 in the 4x400 meter relay.
Sierah Ruffner was the victor in the high jump with a mark of 1.57 meters.
Rachel Hanna cleared 3.04 meters in the pole vault in her win.
Pealer provided a distance of 5.13 meters in the long jump, and Michaela Harris produced a finish of 10.43 meters in the triple jump.
Marideth Tate added to a solid sophomore campaign with a throw of 39.35 meters in the hammer throw.
The Lady Panthers will send qualifying members of the team to the NCCAA championships next weekend.
