Women’s track and field collects 12 points, one NCCAA national title

CEDARVILLE, Ohio The womens track and field team collected 12 points at the annual NCCAA indoor national championships as they were led by national champion Chelsea Gilles in the 400 meter dash. The team placed 14th.
Gilles, an All-American in the 400, won the third heat and posted a time of 58.34 seconds. Her time was five hundredths of a second better than the runner-up.
Greenville had two relay teams collect single points with eighth place finishes.
Gilles, Josie Muniania, Iyeesha Deberry, and Alex Gregory took eighth in the 4x200 meter relay as their time of 1:49.62 was best in their heat.
Rachel Renshaw, Krissy Finley, Brooke Goodyear, and Jordie File teamed up for eighth in the 4x800 with their finish in 10:16.23.
The Lady Panthers return to action on Saturday, March 7, at Wisconsin Stevens Point in the Pointers NCAA Qualifier.
