Women's Basketball Rolls Over Blackburn

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team evened their conference record at 1-1 with an offensive onslaught of Blackburn as the Lady Panthers won 97-71 Saturday afternoon. Emily Gundy knocked in 22 points to go along with a team leading eight rebounds and six assists.

Greenville scored early and often, posting 60 points in the first 20 minutes of play. The Blackburn defense held Greenville slightly in check in the second half despite Greenville outscoring them 37-30 in the second period.

All five Greenville starters posted double figure scoring efforts. Claire Schmitt and Jamie Schollenbruch tallied 13 points a piece and Coley Baker and Whitney Vitt chipped in 10 points. Missy Deal came off the bench to score 11 points.

The Lady Panthers (4-3) return to action at MacMurray on Friday and Saturday as they face St. Mary-of-the-Woods and Calumet.
