Women's Basketball edged by Spalding

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The women's basketball team went toe to toe with Spalding but ended up on the short end of a 59-50 final score. Greenville was led by the guard play of Claire Schmitt and Miranda Murray who produced 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Greenville and Spalding were knotted 30-30 at the half, but Spalding pushed its lead to as many as 12 points before Greenville cut it down to single digits.
Spalding outrebounded the Lady Panthers by 15 and forced 19 Greenville turnovers.
Laura Goodnight, Taylor Paulin, and Whitney Vitt all pulled down five rebounds.
Kelly Lenz and Schmitt had three assists.
Coley Baker blocked three shots.
The Lady Panthers (1-3, 0-1 SLIAC) host Westminster on Saturday at 1 p.m.
