Volleyball Sweeps Day Two at Augustana Classic

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The volleyball team upped their season record to 3-1 after a four-set defeat of Loras and a three-set sweep of Knox on Saturday.

The Lady Panthers continued their solid play of Friday night as they came to the gym ready to knock off Loras. Greenville won with scores of 25-16, 25-21, 15-25, 29-27.

Tricia Gall and Ansley DeVrieze were Greenville's co-leaders in kills as they totaled 11 each.

Jamie Schollenbruch continued her defensive efforts, picking up 28 digs. Marie Kendrick added one solo block and two block assists.

In match two of the day, Greenville topped Knox 25-10, 25-11, 25-21.

Joelle Scholten picked up 10 kills to lead Greenville's attacking efforts.

Lauren Sheline and Ellen Lueking each tallied six digs.

Marissa Erwin contributed one solo block and four block assists, while teammate Corinne Coon posted four block assists.

After the two-day competition, Greenville saw its team tie for first place with a 3-1 record. Coon and Kendrick were named to the all-tournament team. Coon led Greenville with 37 kills and 15 blocks in four matches. Kendrick totaled 19 kills and posted a .310 hitting percentage while contributing 13 blocks.

The Lady Panthers return to action Wednesday night against Rose-Hulman at 7:30 p.m.
