Volleyball Falls in Three Sets to Defending NCAA Division III Champions

Published: April 13, 2021

It's not an easy proposition opening the season against the reigning national champions, but the Greenville College women's volleyball team faced the challenge head on last week in St. Louis and used the start as a stepping stone to what the 2010 season could become.

The Lady Panthers were stopped in three games in the match, but the experience of an outstanding 2009 season showed through.

The Bears won the first game of the match 25-15, but the Lady Panthers offense improved markedly over the next two games, committing just six errors in 60 hitting attempts.

Even with the improvement, the Bears were too strong, taking 25-17 and 25-18 wins to finish the sweep.
