Published: April 13, 2021

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Escaping the unpredictable weather in Illinois, several of Greenville College's spring sports are spending its annual spring break week competing in the southeast. The baseball and softball teams are playing in Florida, while the men's and women's tennis teams have traveled to South Carolina. The men's and women's track and field teams will not participate this week.

The softball team was the first to compete as they departed Friday for Memphis where they met Rhodes and Berry. Starting on Monday, they will play in Cocoa Beach, Fla., against the likes of Minnesota - Crookston, Minnesota St. Moorhead, and Fisher through Wednesday.

The baseball team will be busy as well, playing Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in Central Florida as they take on Edgewood, Anderson, Ripon, and St. Norbert, respectively.

True to form, the men's and women's tennis teams willtake the balls and rackets toHlton Head Island in South Carolina. The women competed against Macalester on Sunday, and they will battle Messiah, Shawnee St., and Richard Stockton on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, respectively. The men begin action on Monday against Concordia (Wis.) and will compete against Texas Lutheran, Messiah, Westminster (Pa.), and Rensselaer from Tuesday through Thursday.

The men's and women's track and field teams will take a much-needed breather as three womenreturn from competing at the NCAA Division III indoor national championships in Ohio this past weekend. The outdoor track and field season begins on Friday, March 25, at Washington - St. Louis.
