Softball wins 18th and 19th at Iowa Wesleyan

MT. PLEASANT, Iowa -- The softball team won a pair of games at Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday. Greenville won the first game 7-1 and took game two 8-3.

Bryn McKie posted a 3-for-4 outing in game one with thee runs scored and an RBI.

Hannah Burger was the winning pitcher with seven innings of three-hit softball. She only allowed one run and struck out four.

Greenville got a single run in the first inning and took a 4-0 lead in the top of the fifth. They tacked on a run in the sixth and two in the seventh.

In game two, the Lady Panthers posted single runs in the top of the first, second, and third innings, opening up a 3-0 lead. Iowa Wesleyan tightened the score with two runs in the fourth and matched Greenville with one run in the fifth inning.

Greenville added two runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Andrea Martin went 3-for-4 with four RBI in the win. Anaya Tobiason was 4-for-4 with one run and two RBI.

Shelby Cash picked up a 3-for-4 effort with three runs scored and an RBI.

Burger was the winning pitcher in relief as she went four innings and allowed one run on six hits.

The Lady Panthers (19-12, 10-2 SLIAC) travel to Westminster on Wednesday.
