Softball Splits Games Against Beloit

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Greenville College Women's softball team took on Beloit at home in a double-header that ended with each team gaining a win. The first game went to Beloit 8-4, but GC would fight back and finish the second game with a 7-3 victory.

The first game went to Beloit with a score of 8-4. Andrea Martin had a double in the game to earn an RBI and Jessica Laubecher had 2 RBIs in the game. Hannah Burger pitched all 9 innings. She faced 33 batters and allowed 8 hits total.

The second game went better for Greenville, with the Panthers gaining the 7-3 win. This time, Ashley Woodrome was on the mound for GC. Woodrome faced 31 batters and only allowed 6 hits. On offense, GC was strong, with 5 different players earning RBIs. Mattie Fairchild and Laubecher eachearned twoRBIsfor the Panthers. Shannon Elbe, Jessie Fink, and Andrea Martin were each credited with an RBI and Helms and Martin each hit a double.

The team's record now stands at 3-7 (0-2 SLIAC). They will take the homefield again at 5:00pm on Tuesday,March 26in a double-header against Wisconsin-Platteville.
