DECATUR, Ill.--The Greenville College Softball team could not best Milikin in either game of the double-header, losing 8-0 and 5-6.

The first game ended in a 8-0 GC shutout after Milikin took control in the fourth inning, scoring 6 runs and putting the game away. Hannah Burger was credited with the loss on the mound. Burger faced 24 batters and allowed 10 hits and 7 of the 8 Milikin runs. Ashley Woodrome pitched the final inning for GC, facing 6 batters and allowing 2 hits and 1 run.

GC came out ready to play the second game. They were determined to come back and win and almost did so, losing a close battle 6-5. Mattie Fairchild and Andrea Martin each hit a double in the game and both Martin and Shannon Elbe recorded a home run for Greenville. Elbe and Martin were each credited with 2 RBI and Reanna Weidner had one in the game. Jessica Laubecher recorded the loss after pitching to 26 batters, allowing 12 hits, and giving up all 6 of the runs. Woodrome replaced Laubecher on the mound in the middle of the fifth innings allowed just two hits from the six batters she faced.
