Several Panthers Finish First in Outdoor Opener

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Panthers traveled to Washington University to begin the outdoor season at the St. Louis Mini Meet. The Panthers finished third out of four teams, with Washington University taking first, Wheaton College second, and Principia College fourth.

Among the top performers for the men were Bryan Waugh, Jarrid Williams, and Josh Kuusisto. Waugh came in first in the discus throw (44.32m) and second in the hammer throw (43.61m). Williams was first in the triple jump (12.95m) and first in the long jump (6.49m). Kuusisto placed first in the hammer throw with a length of 54.96m.

The Panther men also won the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay. Dmitri Holman, Bruce Gray, Josh Garcia, and Jonah Peoples finished the 4x100 with a time of 42.27 seconds. Branden Niehaus, Treyvon Manning, Bruce Gray, and Nathan Allyn had a time of 3:26.87 in the 4x400.

The men finished with 129 points total. The Panthers travel to Washington University again on Friday, March 28, and Saturday, March 29.
