HILTON HEAD, S.C.-- The Panther men took to the courts at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort on Tuesday afternoon, looking to run their winning streak to four. After a short rain delay, the match was underway against Heidelberg. Heidelberg defeated the Panthers by a very narrow margin last year in Hilton Head 5-4.

The Panthers jumped on top early as Ryan Haas and Demetrius Bush continued their undefeated season at #3 doubles with a decisive 8-2 victory. The Panthers led late at #1 and #2 doubles, but were unable to secure the victories. After doubles, Heidelberg led 2-1.

Ryan Haas started off singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #5 singles. Soon after, Freshman Code Power put the Panthers ahead 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Alex Dowley followed with a great comeback win at #4 singles 4-6, 6-2, 10-7. Heidelberg battled back to gain victories at #3 and #2 singles. That knotted the score at 4-4. Freshman Jonathan Urshan was the last Panther left on court. After losing the first set, he showed great toughness in fighting back to win the second set. He played a very solid Supertiebreaker, but fell by a score of 11-9. That gave the 5-4 victory to Heidelberg.

The Panther season record stands at 3-2. Their next opponent will be Edgewood on Wednesday morning.
