Men's Track and Field Finishes 2nd Overall at Illinois College

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.-- The GC Men's Track and Field team traveled to Illinois College to participate in the True Blue Meet and came in 2nd place out of the 24 teams that competed.

Bruce Gray had an impressive meet for the Panthers, coming in first place in the 100m Dash and in 2nd place in the 200m Dash. His 100m Dash time was 10.80, earning 10 points for the Panthers. He added another 8 points after finishing the 200m in 21.67.

Josh Kuusisto also earned Greenville some points when he took 1st in the Hammer Throw. Kuusisto threw the hammer 61.17m to break Greenville's school record and add 10 points to GC's total.

Josh Dees was another Panther to come in 1st and earn 10 more points for GC. Dees finished the 15000m Run in 4:02.75 to put himself in the 2nd place spot. Coree Woltering was just behind Dees in the event, finishing in 3rd with a time of 4:06.71.

Treyvon Manning earned himself a 2nd place finish in the 400m Hurdles, crossing the finish line at 55.63. He earned GC 11 total points in the meet.

Ben Barber had an impressive 2nd place finish in the Steeplechase. His time of 10:25.46 earned 8 points for the Panthers.

Bryant Simpson also did well Saturday, coming in 3rd place in the 800m Run with a time of 1:58.96.

Bryan Waugh, Anthony Everett, Alex Staton, Ross Baker, Branden Niehaus, Adam Kammler, and the 4x100 and 4x400 relays teams also earned points for Greenville. This brought the Panthers to a combined total of 99 points, which put them in 2nd place overall.

The team will compete again on Thursday, May 2, in the NCCAA National Championships.
