Men’s Tennis Competes Against Missouri Baptist

ELSAH, Ill. The men's tennis teamtraveled back to Elsah, Ill., on Wednesday to take on the squad from Missouri Baptist on the campus of Principia College. Overall, the Panthers earned the team decision 6-3and also had a strong showing individually, winning five of six matches in singles play and claiming one of the three matches in doubles action.

The Panthers' day was headlined by the current SLIACNo. 1doubles defending champion duo of Ian Wolf and Joe Newlin. Wolf and Newlin dominated their doubles match 8-4, while both collected individual singles wins going 6-1, 6-2 and 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 respectively.

GCsNo. 4, No. 5, and No. 6players also won their matches on the day. Senior Jesse Shaw dominated his match 6-0, 6-1, while Ryan Haas and Jonathan Allen earned their wins 6-4, 7-6, 7-5 and 10-5, respectively.

The men's tennis team (1-0) will next take the court as they play host to Illinois College on Friday, March 4, at 3p.m. All games will be played on the campus of Greenville College at the Scott J. Burgess Tennis Complex.
