Men's Tennis Captures 9-0 Win Over Eureka

EUREKA, Ill.-- The Panthers were able to get the 9-0 sweep over the Eureka College Red Devils, winning five matches and being handled the default win for the remaining three due to a limited Eureka roster.

The Red Devils only had four players and were forced to default the final three matches, two in singles play and one in doubles.

In singles play, Panther Jon Urshan defeated Wes Crandall in the #1 spot with scores of 6-1, 6-0. GC's Jordan Tingles won the #2 match against Cody Leach 6-0, 6-0. Andrew Herelin took the #3 match from Eureka's Andrew Schoepke, 6-0, 6-0. Mason Tennell defeated Was Deibner to claim the #4 match 6-0, 6-0. Finally, Jonathan Allen and Ryan Mulholland won their matches bt default.

In doubles play, the #1 duo of Urshan and Tingle easily beat Eureka's Crandall and Leach with a score of 8-1. Tennell and Herelin were victorious in the #2 spot with a 8-0 sweep over Schoepke and Deibner. The #3 match was also a default win by Allen and Mulholland.

The team's record is now 6-4 (2-0 SLIAC). They will take to the court Tuesday, April 2 when they play Webster at home.
