Men’s Soccer Stumbles Against Lindenwood

Published: April 13, 2021

BELLEVILLE, Ill. The Panthers dropped their season opener against the Lynx of Lindenwood Belleville on Thursday as they were shut out 1-0.

The lone goal of the match was netted in the 15th minute as Lynx forward Tyler Houck snuck a shot past GC all-conference senior goalkeeper Nathan Haas. Lindenwoods 1-0 advantage would hold for the rest of play despite several Panther attempts to equalize the margin.

Our men battled hard out there against a polished opponent in Lindenwood, commented head coach Brian McMahon. It is important to keep in mind that it is early and that we can grow from any and all adversity.

With the loss GC moves to 0-1 in the early 2011 season.

The men's squad will return to action Saturday, September 3-5 as they travel to San Antonio, Texas and square off against national powerhouses Trinity and Southwestern in a weekend road trip.
