Published: April 13, 2021

ST. LOUIS, Mo.-- The Greenville College Men brought back a big win after Daniel Ruder's last second antics brought the final score to 3-2 GC.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle marked by a Fontbonne goal early on by Justin Williams. The half ended 1-0 in favor of the Griffins, but Greenville would not go down that easy.

Nathan Mayberry was thefirst Panther player to find the back of the net, scoring a header off of apass from Jacob Krisher in the 51st minute of the game. The next GC goal came in the 77th minute when Dan Ruder put a ball deep in Fontbonne territory and the Griffins scored an own goal. Fontbonne quickly responded and, eightminutes later, Joe Tibbles scored off of an assist from Justin Williams. This brought the game to a 2-2 tie with just five minutes remaining in regular time. When the game looked to be all but over, GC's Matt Cowman played a brilliant ball to Ruder and he finished the shot past the Fontbonne keeper with just 40 seconds remaining in the match to give Greenville the 3-2 victory.

This win brings the Panther's record to 7-5-1 (2-0-1 SLIAC). They take to their home field Saturday, Oct. 13th at 4:00p.m. to take on Principia in hopes of another Conference victory.
