GREENVILLE, Ill. The mens squad dominated Saturdays match against Monmouth 4-0, successfully defending Francis Field in convincing fashion.

Senior David Dunlop headlined the games efforts with an impressive strike from 25 yards out in the 34th minute to help distance the Panthers in the shutout. Dunlop, who sat out the early season with a nagging foot injury, buried his first goal of 2011 in his initial game back.

Greenville cruised from the outset, dominating the pitch early behind sophomore Jacob Krishers unassisted goal in the 15th minute. The Panthers would again answer in the 25 minute on a blast from senior Daniel Taylor to extend the lead to 2-0. Dunlop would then add his goal in the 34th minute to give GC the 3-0 margin heading into intermission.

In the second half Greenville continued to showcase a quality performance, defending brilliantly. Senior GK Nathan Haas notched four saves and vocally aided the defense from his vantage point. Senior Cobi Allen netted the final ball of the game on an assist from Daniel Ruder in the 50th minute to seal the 4-0 victory.

With the win mens soccer improves to 2-2-2 in 2011.
