GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's basketball team saw their 2011-12 season start on a sour note with a 75-74 loss to St. Louis Pharmacy Tuesday night. The Eutectics kept their perfect season alive with a free throw with less than four seconds remaining to pick up the win.

K.J. Hilliard provided much of Greenville's offense as he posted a team-high 24 points in the game. Hilliard also led the squad with eight rebounds.

Jordan Smith came off the bench to post 10 points and four steals in 24 minutes of play, and Jose Garcia added four assists.

St. Louis Pharmacy (3-0) was led by sharpshooting Shawn Menckowski who hit 14 field goals, including five three-pointers, and seven free throws in accumulating a game-high 40 points.

The Panthers (0-1) return to action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Hendrix for a two-game trip against the host Hendrix and Rhodes.
