ST. LOUIS, Ill. The men's basketball team faced hosting Webster University in the first round of the mens St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday. The Panthers could not contain the Gorloks and fell in a decisive 78-61 season finale at Grant Gymnasium. Obinna Agomo led GC in the losing effort, netting a team high 21 points while posting three boards and two steals.

Greenville struggled to find its groove early, falling to a 32-12 deficit early in the first half. Websters junior guard, and first team all-SLIAC selection, Willie Trimble put on a first-half show, scoring 22 points while hitting 5-of-5 three-pointers in the first nine minutes. Webster would go on to hit 7-of-9 three-pointers to build a 48-24 halftime lead.

Trimble led Webster and all scorers, finishing with a season and game high 29 points, while going 5-of-6 from the three-point line and adding five steals.

The Panthers ended the season 12-13 while going 8-8 in SLIAC play. They earned a bid to their first SLIAC tournament since 1999.
