Men's and Women's Soccer Continues String of Postseason Honors; Dunlop and Siebert Picked as NCCAA All-Americans

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- Despite the season being over, the honors keep coming in for the Greenville College men's and women's soccer programs. Junior forward David Dunlop (Coleraine, Northern Ireland) and sophomore forward Mindy Siebert (Cape Girardeau, Mo.) both received first team NCCAA All-American honors.
Dunlop, who was an honorable mention All-American last season, put together a 13 goal and 11 assist campaign. Siebert also received honorable mention All-American honors last year and put together a 21 goal, 10 assist season in 2010.
In recognition of their achievement, they were invited to join fellow All-Americas from the youth, high school, and college ranks to be honored during the NSCAA All-America Luncheon at the Hilton Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, Md. The luncheon was held during the 64th annual National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention on Saturday, Jan. 15. It was the world's largest annual gathering of soccer coaches and the largest soccer convention in the world. One thousand four hundred guests were expected for the luncheon.
As a guest of the NSCAA and Performance Subaru, Dunlop and Siebert received a complimentary ticket to the luncheon, two All-America award certificates, a gift from its sponsor, and free admission to the 2011 NSCAA convention. The MLS draft and WPS draft were alsoheld in conjunction with the convention.
Dunlop and Siebert were not the only Greenville soccer stars to receive accolades. Cobi Allen (St. Louis, Mo.) and Daniel Taylor (Village Ridge, Mo.) received second team NCCAA All-American honors.
The NSCAA announced its NCAA Division III all-region team which included three Panthers. Terrance Cosby, Nathan Mayberry, and Cobi Allen were chosen.
Greenville's men's program finished a record-setting year, winning the "Double" which includes the SLIAC conference regular season championship along with a SLIAC tournament championship. This marks the fourth year in succession that Greenville has qualified for a national championship post-season tournament. They participated in the NCCAA national championships in 2007 and 2009 and the NCAA championships in 2008 and 2010. On the year, Greenville posted a 15-6-2 record, scoring 64 goals while only conceding 34.
The women's side was almost equally impressive posting a 14-7-2 record. They scored 74 goals in the process while only conceding 24. The women's team ended up tied for second place in the SLIAC and also qualified for the NCCAA regional tournament before falling in Chicago to Trinity International.
This marks the 12th and 13th players McMahon has coached that have received All-American honors in his 10 years at Greenville. Since 2003 the men's team has compiled a record of 115- 57-21, scoring 504 goals and only allowing 242. In SLIAC conference play in the last three years, the men's team has posted a 28-3-3 record.
Since 2007, the women's program at Greenville has posted a record of 58-22-2, scoring 307 goals while only conceding 97. This summer the women's program will be traveling to Italy for their 12 day pre-season tour while the men the following year are considering a Spain/Portugal/France tour or possibly a Brazil tour.
