NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League (MCVL) formally announced the addition of two institutions to its ranks, bringing its membership to 10 beginning in the winter of 2016. North Central College and Greenville College have accepted membership into the MCVL with the two institutions beginning competition during the 2015-16 academic year.

"We are thrilled to add Greenville and North Central to the MCVL bringing our membership next year to 10 members," said MCVL Commissioner Chris Martin. "Both schools fit well with the current MCVL membership on many fronts including geography and mission, and will undoubtedly add to the level of play in the MCVL."

Current members of the MCVL ready for play in 2015 include Benedictine University, Carthage College, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Fontbonne University, Mount St. Joseph University, Lakeland College, Loras College, and Dominican University.

Greenville College head men's and women's volleyball coach Tom Ackerman stated, "I am very excited that we are adding a men's program at Greenville and I am confident we will be able to attract high level players."

"North Central College and the men's volleyball program are honored to be accepted into the Midwestern Collegiate Volleyball League," said North Central men's volleyball coach Kyle Exline. "As the 23rd varsity sport at North Central and entering its inaugural season in 2015-16, we are very excited to be a member of the first ever Division III Midwest conference."

The inaugural season will begin in mid January with conference play beginning February 6. The first MCVL tournament will be held on April 10-11at the site of the regular season champion.

The NCAA has sponsored an official Division III men's volleyball national championship since 2012. The winner of the MCVL tournament will receive an automatic bid in the NCAA national championships beginning in 2017.
