Men's volleyball dropped at Fontbonne

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The men's volleyball team traveled to Fontbonne for the second time this season and faced a Griffin team that handed the Panthers a three-set loss. The Panthers hit just under 11 percent as their attacking efforts resulted in 26 errors on the evening.

Greenville played its best in the first set as they fell 26-24. In the opening set, they had 12 kills and seven errors in 33 attacks as they recorded a set-high .152 hitting percentage.

The second set saw Greenville fall 25-21 as they had 12 kills and eight errors in 34 attacks, hitting at a .118 rate.

The third set was the most challenging as they had 13 kills but piled up 11 errors in 34 attacks for a .059 hitting percentage.

Daniel Bilinski continued his role as team leader in kills as he collected 14 but was hurt by 16 errors in 40 chances. His hitting rate was below zero at -.050. Defensively, he had the team-high with nine digs.

Daniel's brother Nicolas produced a team-high .345 hitting clip as he had 12 kills with just two errors in 29 attacks.

Tanner Smith tallied a match-high 35 assists.

The Panthers (5-2) return to action on Friday, Feb. 12, with a MCVL showdown against Carthage at H.J. Long Gymnasium, beginning at 7 p.m.
