Men's Track and Field Wins Two Events at Monmouth

MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Led by junior sprinter Bruce Gray, the men's track and field team earned two event championships at the Monmouth Fighting Scot Invitational on Saturday.

Gray was champion in the 60 meter dash and 200 meter dash as he ran times of 6.81 in the 60 and 21.89 in the 200 to take the titles.

Gray posted a time in the 60 preliminaries of 6.98 seconds which tied for the top position heading into the finals.

Josh Kuusisto threw the weight 58-0.25 in his second place performance.

Dmitri Holman ran a 6.98 time to place third in the 60 after earning the third place time in the preliminaries.

The distance medley team of Nathan Allyn, Treyvon Manning, Daniel Ellenberg, and Josh Phipps ran a time of 11:23.08 in their third place finish.

Ben Barber completed the 3000 meter run in 9:15.84 which was also good for third.

The Panthers travel to the NCCAA indoor national championships at Olivet Nazarene on Friday and Saturday.
