DELAWARE, Ohio -- The No. 16 nationally ranked Greenville College men's track and field team used two national runner-up finishes and a fifth place mark to take eighth place at the NCAA Division III outdoor national championships on Saturday.

The Panthers were led by junior Bruce Gray, who ran 10.54 seconds in the 100-meter dash to take second before taking fifth place in the 200 with a time of 21.34 seconds.

The Panther 4x100 meter relay team was second as it completed the event in 40.58 seconds behind the efforts of senior Josh Garcia, Gray, freshman Jonah Peoples, and junior Dmitri Holman.

Upon completion of the championships, Gray had run his all-time Greenville record to 10 NCAA All-American honors combined between indoor and outdoor competition.

The 4x100 meter relay team set the Ohio Wesleyan stadium record in the preliminaries while posting the quickest time in Division III this year. Their mark in the prelims was the 11th fastest time ever recorded in Division III. Their second place performance was the highest 4x100 relay finish in school history, bettering the previous best of fourth.

The Panthers obtained 22 points in the championships, the highest total in history for Greenville's men's track and field team. Their eighth place team finish had only been bettered once by the 2003 team which placed seventh.
