Men's tennis tops Edgewood 5-4

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The men's tennis team defeated Edgewood 5-4 as Code Power and Justin McDonald won their No. 3 doubles match and each picked up victories in No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Greenville jumped ahead early as they took two of the three doubles matches. Demetrius Bush and Nate Wieland won 8-6 in No. 2 doubles, and Power and McDonald were also 8-6 winners.

On the singles side of the scoresheet, Jonathan Urshan won his No. 2 singles match 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 10-5.

Code Power defeated his opponent 7-5, 6-4 in No. 4 singles, and No. 6 Justin McDonald closed out his opponent with a 7-5, 3-6, 10-8 victory in the final match of the day to give Greenville the win.

The Panthers (4-2) face Thomas (ME) and Frostburg St. on Wednesday.
