Men's Tennis Sweeps St. Louis Pharmacy

O'FALLON, Ill. -- The men's tennis team rode a complete team effort to a 9-0 win over St. Louis Pharmacy on Saturday.

The Panthers posted winning results in all three flights of doubles and followed that with six straight wins in singles. Greenville won every set but one.

The No. 1 doubles team of Jon Urshan and Alex Dowley opened doubles competition with a solid 8-2 win. The No. 2 team of Justin McDonald and Ryan Haas and No. 3 team of Demetrius Bush and Code Power also took easy 8-3 and 8-4 wins, respectively.

In singles, Urshan, Haas, Dowley, Bush, Power, and newcomer Naoya Uematsu were winners.

Bush posted the most commanding performance, winning 6-1, 6-2 in No. 4 singles.

Haas only allowed his opponent to take five games in the 6-3, 6-2 win in No. 2 singles.

Uematsu was pushed in his match but ended up taking a 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 win in a No. 6 singles match that went to a tiebreaker.

The Panthers (2-1) return to action March 5 when they travel to Rose-Hulman to take on Franklin.
