GREENVILLE, Ill. The mens soccer team received a goal in the 108th minute from Jacob Jones as they took a 1-0 win over Principia in double overtime on Saturday.

Brent Lehr and Frank Dalton assisted on Greenvilles goal.

The Greenville and Principia sides were evenly matched as Principia outshot Greenville by a margin of 15-13.

Greenvilles Josh Davinroy produced a match-high four shots and two shots on goal for the Panthers. The Greenville side had five shots on goal.

Goalkeeper Thomas Crown kept six Principia shots on goal from crossing the goal line as he registered his second shutout.

We sure like to make things interesting, said head coach Chris Swift. It was a typical gritty performance from us. We defended well and took our chance when it came. It's a huge conference win that sets us up well to get in the conference tournament.

We are doing a terrific job of maximizing the goals we are getting; we have turned 15 goals into seven wins and a draw. We are grinding out results. Jacob Jones stepped up with his second huge goal this week, and Thomas Crown remains an anchor for us. Our back four continues to be disciplined and organized, which is quite remarkable taking into account it is an entirely different group from our back four last year.

The Panthers (7-6-1, 3-1 SLIAC) travel to MacMurray for a conference match on Saturday.
