GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The men's soccer program saw their non-conference record fall to 3-3-1 as they were topped by Wheaton 2-0 on Wednesday night in Greenville. Senior goalkeeper Thomas Crown posted 10 saves.
Jordan York and Dillon Czech provided shots on goal for Greenville.
Wheaton outshot Greenville 8-2 after one half and held a 15-1 shot advantage in the second half.
"Wheaton is a great team, who pushed us to our limits," said head coach Chris Swift. "We competed well for 90 minutes. We had some early chances to score and gave them a little bit of a scare, but we rode our luck at times as well."
"Thomas played another phenomenal match. He is leading from the back and keeping us in games; its all that we could ask for from him. We have a quick turnaround for Millsaps on Friday, but we need to recover quickly and get back in the win column."
