Men's Soccer Ties TCC Trolls in Home-Opener

GREENVILLE, Ill.-- The Greenville College Men's Soccer Team played a tough Trinity Christian squad and earned the 1-1 tie after a double-overtime thriller.

The first half of the game went by without either team finding the back of the net. A penalty kick from Trinity Christian's Caleb Steele put the Trolls on the scoreboard in the 73rd minute. Fortunately for the home team, GC senior Robert Wright evened the score in the 81st minute when Jacob Krisher sent a beautiful pass across the box to his feet.

Greenville goalkeeper, Thomas Crown, made 5 saves in the match. Both teams recorded 13 shots in the game.

The tie brings the Panthers to a record of 1-1-1. GC will take the field again on Wednesday, September 11 when they travel to Rose-Hulman for a 7:00pm kick-off.
