LOUISVILLE, Ky. The mens soccer team rebounded from Tuesdays loss with a 2-0 win over Spalding on the road Saturday in its first conference contest. Dillon Czech and Jordan York posted goals for Greenville and Thomas Crown tallied five saves in a shutout.

Czech put Greenville on the scoreboard in the 43rd minute after Ben Linder fed him a pass leading to his goal.

Jordan York scored in the 57th minute and was assisted by Spencer Pulliam.

Greenville had four shots on goal in the contest. The Panthers were outshot 16-10.

This was a huge win today for us., said head coach Chris Swift. We knew Spalding were going to come out hard, and we were going to have to match their intensity. We did that very well.

Today was a great marker for how much we have learned on the season. We learned some valuable lessons from our loss on Tuesday, and we showed up today to make sure we didn't repeat those mistakes. Today we were very disciplined defensively and opportunistic in the attack.

We challenged some individuals throughout the week to turn in individual performances that impacted the team, and each one of them stepped up and contributed, including both Jordan and Dillon with their goals.

The Panthers (5-4-1, 1-0 SLIAC) travel to Millikin on Wednesday before hosting Westminster in a rematch of last seasons SLIAC tournament semifinal.
