GREENVILLE, Ill.-- With a tough 2012-2013 season behind them, the Panthers are ready to start this season off right. With a good balance of returners and new faces, the Panthers are expected to see success this year.

GC finished last season with a record of 9-16 (4-12 SLIAC). They ended 2013 seventh in the SLIAC. Fortunately, the experience and drive of Greenvilles upperclassmen will help the team perform in tough games this year.

Senior, Alex Mumphard is a key returner for GC and is serving as team captain this season. Mumphard received an All-Conference Honorable Mention last season. The team has three returning seniors that Coach Barber believes will contribute greatly to the team.

Mumphard is in his senior season and is playing great, Coach Barber said. We have two other seniors, Tevin Rollins and Anthony Metzler who have worked hard this off season and improved greatly.

In addition to the returners, the team has recruited eleven new players to replace the graduating seniors from last season.

The new players will give us needed height and toughness after losing six seniors from last season, Barber said.

The team will kick-off their season on Friday, November 15 when they take on Millikin in the SLIAC Challenge Tournament.
