Lady Panther Basketball Splits Games in Tip-Off Classic

FULTON, Mo.-- The GC women lost to Rhodes College, but redeemed themselves with a win over Hendrix in the Westminster Tip-Off Classic.
The first game proved to be a tough one for Greenville, with the women falling 46-73 in their first regular season game. They allowed the loss to fuel their fire and came ready to play the next day, defeating Hendrix 86-50 to bring home a win.
In their first game of the weekend, GC lost 46-73 but Coach Mulholland said the score did not accuractely reflect the effort the women gave.
"We played well against a very good team," Coach Mulholland said. "They got us the first half but we played better in the second half and I am prod of the team."
Ieisha Adams led the team in scoring, with 13 points total in the game. GC recorded 36 rebounds, with Coley Baker getting 6 and Emily Gundy and Laura Hobbie each adding 5. The team had a 76% free throw average.
In their second game of the tournament, he Panthers had a team average of 83.3% in free throws and grabbed 49 rebounds. Baker and Hobbie led GC in scoring on Saturday, bothrecording 16 points in the game. Baker also was credited with14 rebounds and went 8 for 8 in free throws. Adams was impressive in the second game as well, scoring five out of her six field goal attempts and recording 14 points for the Panthers.
