GREENVILLE, Ill.-- On Saturday, April 27, at the Illinois College True Blue Meet, history was made as junior, Josh Kuusisto broke Greenville College's hammer throw record, a record he set just last year.
The previous hammer throw record was held at 184'1 (56.12m). Kuusisto set that record in 2012. On Saturday, he threw a distance of 200'7 (61.17m), smashing his own record. This means that he added a whopping 5.05 meters to his previous personal best.
Kuusisto earned first place in the event and helped GC finish the meet in 2nd place out of the 24 teams that competed.
Kuusisto has had an incredible season and is expected to finish strong in the postseason.
